Welcome to Ristra Reads and Recs!
Jacqueline (she/her) grew up in the borderlands of southern New Mexico, eating red chile posole and reveling in vivid sunsets. She attended Wellesley College and received her bachelor’s degree in English and History in 2019. Currently, she spends her free time reading, writing, blogging, and practicing her landscape photography. Her favorite genres are fantasy and romance, but she will read anything that looks interesting.
Jacqueline started Ristra Reads and Recs in the summer of 2020 to share her favorite books with others, and to interact with the book-loving community. She works to make the blog a loving space where people of all identities are welcome.
About the name
A ristra is a strand of chile peppers commonly found across the state of New Mexico outside homes and stores. It serves both practical and decorative purposes. New Mexico is the largest producer of chile peppers in the U.S., and Jacqueline is proud to use a symbol of her home state in the name of the blog.
